Observation a)ESSENTIAL - early, often, parts are great Easy ones - hospital rounds - procedures - emergency work - chart reviews
b)More difficult (may need to plan) - mental health type interview - difficult personality - complex medical patient - giving bad news c)RECORD - observation field notes/other - residents use to track experiences - competency/evaluation/planning for future
