What prompted the need? DUAL CREDIT STUDENTS STUDENTS WITH I.E.P’s

What we came up with Student Application IEP Identified Sign-Off Dual Credit Teachers Collects I.E.P’s Shares directly with College SCC Student Services Temporary accommodation plans Not all Students need appointments SCWI Office Receives sealed envelopes Share with students Encourage use Explain actual process for college students Student Self-Identifies Up to student to use accommodations and share with faculty College Faculty Works with student services to give students accommodations.

What we came up with 1 1.School Counsellor identifies students with IEP’s 2.Incorporated into Program Authorization & Consent Statement: “I am aware that if I have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) that this information may be shared by the school board's Dual Credit Teacher with St. Clair College's Student Services to determine appropriate accommodations.2” Student Application IEP Identified Sign-Off

What we came up with 2 Dual Credit Teachers Collects I.E.P’s Shares directly with College 1.Board Dual Credit teachers works with various schools to collect all student IEP’s. 2.Shares directly with College Student Services. 3.Follows up with students during semester.

What we came up with 3 SCC Student Services Temporary accommodation plans Not all Students need appointments 1.Creates temporary accommodation plans based on the student IEP’s. 2.Makes appointments through dual teachers only for “high need” students * All services are available to dual credit students

What we came up with 4 Dual Credit Teachers Temporary accommodation plans Not all Students need appointments SCWI Office Receives sealed envelopes Share with students Encourage use Explain actual process for college students 1.Receives sealed envelope from Student Services. 2.Shares with students and encourages them to use the accommodations that are outlined. 3.Explain that this process is not the same as when they apply to a full time college program.

What we came up with 5 Student Self-Identifies Up to student to use accommodations and share with faculty 1.Students must self-identify. This remains our biggest challenge. 2.Student gives directly to dual credit faculty

What we came up with 6 College Faculty Works with student services to give students accommodations. 1.Gives students the accommodations they need. 2.Works with Student Services and SCWI office.
