10/30/12 BR- Last Week we said that Humans began to transition from one way of life (hunter gathering) to another. See next.. Today: Making the Transition – Paleolithic to Neolithic

If we all started as hunter gatherers.. Why did some places in the world advance faster? Why are some place still practice “old” ways of living? Why do you think some countries in the world have power, wealth, and technology whiles others have less?

Today: Why is the world the way it is? Why did history happen the way it did? One person has come up with an explanation for this complex question. Author, Jared Diamond explains his theory in his book, Guns, Germs, and Steel

This theory is based on “Geographic Luck.” Assignment: Watch the video and answer the questions in the viewing guide. We will stop the video to clarify any questions you might miss. *Diamond’s theory is going to be the basis for your first writing assignment.
