Broncos Win Super Bowl 50

In what may have been the final game of Peyton Manning's 18-year career, the Denver Broncos won Sunday’s Super Bowl. They ended up with a win over the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 in front of 71,088 people at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller, who had two strip-sack fumbles of Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, was named Super Bowl Most Valuable Player. Manning, at 39, is the oldest starting quarterback in Super Bowl history, the first quarterback to win a Super Bowl with two different teams, and one of the greatest football players to ever play the game. However, the defense of the Broncos was the true reason for the Super Bowl victory. Throughout the season, they lead the NFL in total defense, pass defense and sacks.

In Other News North Koreans celebrated the country's successful launch of a satellite into orbit with an official fireworks display on Monday. The launch of the long-range rocket on Sunday triggered a wave of international condemnation and prompted strong reaction from an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council. Though North Korea said the launch was for scientific and "peaceful purposes," it is being widely viewed by other nations as a front to test a ballistic missile, especially coming on the heels of North Korea's purported hydrogen bomb test last month. They carried out both acts in defiance of international sanctions. On the eve of New Hampshire's presidential primaries, a new CNN poll finds both Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders are holding on to substantial leads in their respective races.
