Core Democratic Values By: Carolyn && Laila :)

Life Life basically means that each person has the right to live.

Life We use life each and every day because we live in this country and we all have our individual rights.

Liberty Liberty just means freedom. Examples are we have the freedom to believe what we want, have our own opinions and the right to have any job.

Liberty As students, we use liberty by we can believe what we want and our parents can have the jobs they want we can have our opinions each and everyday.

The Pursuit of Happiness This means that each person the right to be happy and do what they want, as long as they don’t harm the rights of others.

The Pursuit of Happiness An example of this is you can have any job you choose as long as you don’t step on the rights of others.

Justice Justice basically means all people are treated fairly.

Justice Everyday we are treated fairly, we are not treated differently because of our race or religion or anything else. A while person is treated the same way as a black person.

Common Good Common good means like its good for everyone. And we work together to make our country better.

Common Good Examples of common good is like volunteer work and the government making laws that’s good for all citizens.

Equality We are all treated the same way, no matter what your race or religion is, or how much money you have.

Equality An example of equality in our lives is if you are black you are treat the same way as a white.

Diversity Diversity means like differences in language, how you dress, what your race is, is just allowed but is respected.

Diversity People are supposed to respect others for who they are and not where they came from.

Popular Sovereignty The people control who is elected in the government.

Popular Sovereignty An example is that we just voted Barack Obama as president of the United states.

Patriotism As citizens we devote ourselves to our country.

Patriotism We show patriotism in our lives everyday by saying the pledge of allegiance.

Rule of Law Every citizen follows the rules and laws of your country.

Rule of Law Even the government has to follow the laws.
