“Most of the basic material a writer works with is acquired before the age of fifteen.” - Willa Cather

My Writer’s Notebook Is my own personal collection of ideas, memories, quotes and interesting words that will form the basis for my writing. Is a way for me to keep track of things that inspire me “at the moment” without the pressure of having to write a final copy of a story, poem, letter etc. Is unique and special, just like me!

My Writing Territories Writing territories are prompts for ideas that you can have on hand so that you will never experience the dreaded “writers block.” Consider some of the following topics and write specific examples in you Ideas section. Pets: Now and then Teachers Hobbies Places: school, camp, vacations etc. Sports Games Music Movies Books Songs Food Pet peeves Loves of your life Fads Memories Obsessions Idiosyncrasies Problems Dreams Passions Sorrows Risks Accomplishments Fears Worries Fantasies Family: Close and distant Friends: Now and then

Other Ideas for “Ideas” Great Story Starters: Just as the clock struck twelve, Allyson... We had only been gone for 10 minutes when Rachelle... “Shh, what was that?” asked Nicole... With a loud thump, Sarah... I thought I was alone, when suddenly Michael... Everyone was having a good time until Brandon... “Ladies and gentlemen of the jury”, Alex began... Jordan says it was a great day, but I think ... Dylan was so excited to finally be going...

Other Ideas for “Ideas” Great Story Endings That was the last anyone saw of James. Emily knew that life would have to go on. David was never the same after that fateful day. Jon eventually learned that things are not always as they seem. Alyssa slammed the door and that ended the argument once and for all. The best part was, no one ever suspected Brandi Justin lost his leg but not his heart. “Where in the world is Shawn anyway” we all wondered.
