GRADE 7 MATH TEAM 3 MS. YARMOSH WELCOME BACK PERIOD 3

INTRODUCTION I.A bit about me…. II.Curriculum: Text: Big Ideas Math edition by Ron Larson and Laurie Boswell Begin the year with: integers/Absolute Value Rational numbers Algebraic expressions, equations, and formulas

Curriculum continues…. Inequalities Decimal/fraction equations Operations involving fractions, percents, and integers Rate, ratio and proportion Geometric concepts Scale drawings and analysis Investigating chance and probability

GRADING There are ample ways to be successful in my class Quizzes, homework, class work: count once Tests: count twice Projects: count as 2 test grades Homework: 10% of the grade Retakes are not a usual option{exception, one at the end of each trimester—must restudy and take}

EXTRA HELP Wednesdays (other days are also an option—student should check with me) Extra Credit: Not meant for those who do not keep up with expected work:  It is offered on occasion and counts in many different ways. I collect points for the trimester which can be used on a low quiz grade.

HOMEWORK:  "Decimals have a point." Given on a regular basis, even weekends 42 minutes is NOT enough time to master concepts with enough practice Often prepares them for asking the right questions in class and for identifying their own areas of need.

Where to find the homework: 1)Homework is listed online: under the Madison Web site [under teacher web sites] and 1)Finally, under Grade 7, Team 3 2) The text book is online and students were given access codes

Homework may change and not be updated on the web until later on… First line of defense is, and always will be, the AGENDA PAD… Mrs. Zuk has a monthly challenge that earns extra credit points: 3MP and students can find it on her web site.

Questions? Contact: Ms. Yarmosh ps.org TEAM INFORMATION: We meet daily Work on interdisciplinary lessons Meet to discuss student specific needs

HAVE A WONDERFUL YEAR
