History of the business Police Headquarters was run out of City Hall from 1883 until 1971 When Law Enforcement was brought to Fredericton, it only consisted of two officers Paul Phillips ran the Police Force (Started in 1883) (Retired in 1910 at the age of 67) The first official Chief of Police was John Hawthorne (1905) (Chief for 3 years) From 1971 till 1983 Police headquarters was located in the fire station on York Street 1983 the Police Station was built on Queen Street, this is where it is today 1973 the first female Police Officer, Shirley Jollimore, was hired

Facts In 1932, they purchased their first Police car Barry MacKnight had been chief for seven years and on the force for 25 years. He has retired and the force is currently looking for new chief.
