Comprehension: Make Inferences Reread the left column of dialogue on page 251. Why did Mark have to return the snake to the store?

Comprehension: Repetition Repetition is saying or doing something over and over, it is a literary device that is often used in poetry and sometimes prose. Repetition of words can emphasize certain feelings. Authors may use repetition to highlight their purpose or main idea.

Comprehension: Making Inferences Certain words used by a character , show their true feelings. … “I truly, genuinely apologize but I still don’t know how I was suppose to find out what kind of snake I had.” Clue: the words but and still help you know what the character truly felt.

Text Feature: Electronic Encyclopedia Electronic encyclopedias include articles, diagrams, and photographs on many topics. They contain information and facts about a particular subject. Encyclopedia's also contain toolbars at the top of the screen. These allow you to get more specific information. Online Encyclopedia Britannica
