Transition Sentences

Step 1: Meet with your group to add three quotes to the evidence wall. Questions: How did your character change? What caused the character to change?

A transition sentence should... 1.Summarize the point of the previous paragraph. 2.Summarize the point of the current paragraph.

Your transition sentence will... Identify the event that changes the character and how s/he has changed. Example: After Roger is taken in and shown kindness by the woman from whom he attempted to steal, he sees the value of being trusted by another human being and begins to show integrity.

Step 2: With your desk partner, write a transition sentence for a character from our short works unit. Transition sentence = event that changes character + how s/he has changed. After Roger is taken in and shown kindness by the woman from whom he attempted to steal, he sees the value of being trusted by another human being and begins to show integrity.

Step 3: Write a transition sentence for your focus character.
