Essential Question and Outcome Essential Question: How can I integrate literacy activities across the curriculum? Objective: I can increase student achievement by integrating literacy activities and the arts into math and science. Outcome of today’s session: By the end of this session, participants will be able to integrate literacy activities into the math and science classroom

Math and Literacy - Why? Our goal is to prepare students for the real world. If we do not incorporate literacy activities throughout the curriculum, we will not be growing 21 st century learners.

Math, Literacy and the Arts Using the arts combined with literacy activities creates authentic learning. Putting them together Increases student motivation Increases test scores
