What we will do today: Give examples of input devices.

Input Devices An input device in an electric circuit transforms some form of energy into electrical energy which is then passed into the circuit. Examples of input devices are microphones, solar cells and thermocouples.

Input Devices Input DeviceEnergy transformation MicrophoneSound energy  Electrical Energy Solar cell  Electrical Energy Thermocouple  Electrical Energy

Solar Cell A solar cell is an input device that acts by transforming light energy into electrical energy

Solar Cell Area exposed (%)Voltage (V) 0 (fully covered)

Thermocouple A thermocouple is an input device, constructed of two wires of different metals, which transforms heat energy into electrical energy.

What have we learned? We can now give examples of input devices and state their energy changes.
