Overview of Data Needs HIT Taskforce Meeting June 4, 2015

Claims All payers All claim types – Hospital – Physician – Dental – Pharmacy – Lab – Behavioral health – Long term care – Home health – Hospice – Radiology – Etc. Claims

Medical Records and HIE Claims data is insufficient. Need data from actual “chart” Medical records via HIE supplement claims data and provides better information – Ex. BMI will not appear in a claim, but it will be documented in the medical record There may not be a claim due to patient being uninsured. Medical Records via HIE

Behavioral Health Data from community mental health centers Individuals with behavioral health disorders have higher propensity to be uninsured There may be no claims data for these services Behavioral Health

Corrections and Juvenile Justice Incarceration or detention date Release data Count of distinct encounters Sub-analysis of behavioral health data and link to corrections or juvenile justice encounters/rates Corrections and Juvenile Justice
