EASTER ISLAND By Milica room 100

Facts On Easter Island o Easter Island is located in the Southeastern Pacific ocean between Chile and Tahiti. o It is considered a very special territory of Chile.

Facts On Easter Island o Jacob Roggeveen was the first person to discover Easter island. o The official languages are Spanish and Rapa Nui. o The people who lived there were the Polynesians.

The Population o The population of Easter Island has been very high and at times been quite low. o In the next slide you will see how the population suddenly dropped from Slave raiders taking over and capturing tons of people. o When the slave raiders finally let the captured Polynesians go, most of them had already died from tuberculosis or small pox.

The Statues o The statues are made of volcanic rock. o These statues are huge with big noses ad big puffy lips.
