Explanation of curriculum changes ‘Individualised Study Programme’ process Questions and refreshments

Curriculum changes Focussing the curriculum in Y9 Opportunity to concentrate on subjects more likely to be studied in Y10/11 including Ebacc subjects. These are not the final GCSE choices In Y9 there will be an options process and students will decide upon their final choices for Y10 and 11.

English Baccalaureate (EBacc) English Baccalaureate To achieve the EBacc you will need to achieve GCSEs at a grade C, or equivalent, in: Maths English GCSE Sciences (including Computer Science) History or Geography French or Spanish. There is an increasing importance being placed on EBacc subjects.

Compulsory subjects English Language and Literature Maths Science PE ICT

All students will study History or Geography or both History or Geography

Languages Continue with French or Spanish or Litnum (as they are now). Change language. Pick up a 2 nd MFL.

Art Computer Science MFL (2 nd Language) History Optional Geography RE Music Technology (2 choices)

Technology Wide range of choices. Select 2 from the list given. Process done by Technology Department. Choices take place in the Summer term. Only allowed 1 ‘block’ of technology
