Dhikr

What is Dhikr?  Remembrance of Allah  Direct link between servant and Allah  Reminding our selves of our purpose in life.  Inspires and protects us to stay on right path  Purify one’s heart and soul and uplift our sprits.  Control our conscious(nafs) that is pulling at two different directions Sura Ash Shams( 91:7-8)  Learning and teaching  Sura Al-Ankabut (29:45)  Recite (O Muhammad) what has been reveled to you of the book, and establish prayer. Verily prayer keeps you away from the obscene and detestable, and verily the remembrance of Allah is the greatest( duty of the believers). Allah knows what you do.

What is Dhikr?  Remembrance of Allah in heart  And or heart and tongue  Inner remembrance or outward mention  Sura Al Baqarah (2:152)  So therefore remember Me, and I will remember you: and be thankful to Me and do not be ungrateful.

Different methods of Dhikr?  Salaat/Namaz  Reciting the Holy Quran  99 names of Allah  Duas  Majalis The holy Prophet (SWT)has said: Supplication is the weapon of man of faith, the center pole of religion and light of heavens and earth. (The palms of Islam)

Importance of Dhikr!  All of creation does the Dhikr of Allah constantly.  Allah has said in Sura As Saffat( 37: )  Prophet Yunus, when the fish swallowed him while he was blaming(himself). Had he not been one of those who Glorify Him  He would certainly have been detained in its belly till they are raised

Hadith Qudsi  It says “Those that remember Me in their hearts, I remember them in My heart; and those who remember Me in a gathering ( make mention of me), I remember them( make mention of them) in a gathering better then theirs

Importance of Dhikr!  Sura Ar R’ad (13:28)  Those who believe and whose hearts find peace in the remembrance of Allah: verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find peace.  Sura Al Anfal (8:2)  They alone are true believrs whose hearts are deeply moven when they hear Allah name and whose faith is strengthened when its law is communicated to them

Importance of Dhikr!  Sura Al Baqarah (2:198) Remember Allah, for he has guided you.  Sura Al Ahzab( 33:35) And the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember Allah much-from them Allah has kept ready forgiveness and a great recompense. Importance of Dhikr ADVANTAGESDISADVANTAGES "Remember Allah abundantly, in order that you become successful" Quran (Surah 8: Verse 45) Believers, do not let either your possessions or your children divert you from the Remembrance of Allah. Those who do that shall be the losers". Quran (Surah 63: Verse 9) "Only in the remembrance of Allah (swt) will your heart find peace" Quran (Surah 13: Verse 28) Whosoever turns away from My remembrance, his life will be made tight and narrow on the Day of Resurrection We shall raise him blind" Quran (Surah 20: Verse 124) " "Those men and women who engage much in Allah's praise. for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a Great Reward" Quran (Surah 33: Verse 35) Whosoever turns away from the Remembrance of Allah, He will hurl him into a stern punishment". Quran (Surah 72: Verse 17) Their skins and their hearts soften to the remembrance of Allah" Quran (Surah 39: Verse 23) "Woe to those whose hearts have hardened against the Remembrance of Allah! Those are in clear error". Quran (Surah 39: Verse 22)
