YINLING CHAN My Summer and get to know me….

FIGURE SKATING T he way I glide on the smooth ice makes me feel as graceful as a swan. The crunching sound of each stride makes me feel powerful. My eyes sparkle at the sight of people grinning with excitement. My nose and my cheeks glow a light pink colour. Even when I tumble and fall, I get back up and keep moving onwards.swan

TAEKWON DO The coloured belt feels tight around my waist. Every time I kick, I feel a surge or energy rush through me followed by a yell to show power. Five, ten, fifteen punches are thrown landing onto the padding in front of me. Trying to stabilize myself as I kick as high as I can. With just a sip of water, and I’m ready to go for another round.

MUSI C The way the melody fills my ears, puts a smile on my face. I like the way the verses relates to my life. Sometimes it makes me feel as if I’m living a dream. Music is my medicine on a bad day. Music is my energizer on good days. Music is my life and I can’t live without it.

5 SECONDS OF SUMMER CONCERT Sitting at the Rogers arena waiting in anticipation. When the music started, hundreds of girls of all ages jumped up off their seats and screamed with glee. Some cried, some were calm and some just couldn’t stop smiling. The band members were jamming on with their instrument while I rock with the music. It was such a happy time. Sadly, it had to end, but with a light heart, I left with a smile on my face.

TRAVELI NG A road trip with my family to Penticton, Kelowna, Kamloops and Vernon. Driving hours after hours around mountains and landscapes, day and night. Getting to see the gorgeous scenery and having fun just relaxing at rivers and lakes. Fascinated by all the different crops and animals as we drive by. Having a blast trying out many different cuisines and enjoying the great sunny weather. After a short vacation, we came back to reality and packed up for the first day of high school.
