Primary One Task 10:Things in the shop Module: Places and activities Unit: In the shop

Dimension target  ID(e): To obtain and provide objects and information in simple classroom situation and through activities.  KD(a): To provide or find out and present simple information on familiar topics.  KD(f): To recognise the sound patterns of English; and apply this awareness to one’s initial learning and use of the language.

Language function(s) and focus  Use demonstratives to refer to objects. e.g. This is a dog.  That is a cat. This is for you. That is for me.  Ask “What” question to find out specific information about a thing. e.g. What is that?  Use nouns to refer to objects. e.g. It is a panda.  Use indefinite articles to make general statements. e.g. It is an apple/a book.

Teaching steps 1. Click the mouse once and the object appears 2. Some objects appear with sound 3.Click again and the figure teacher will ask “what is this” or “what is that”depending on the distance with the object. 4.Students are encouraged to answer at this time, click again to let the figure raise hand student to answer 5. Click again to show hand clip sound 6. Repeat until the page at the pet shop 7. Click on the pet shop page to listen to a short song about animals 8. Students are encouraged to see carefully the pet inside the cage, decide which pet is close to the figure kid. 9. After the music, write down the correct answer on worksheet to show their understanding of how to use this and that. 10. Click on the bell each to let the students listening to the correct answers
