SB 70 Statewide Career Pathways: Creating School to College Articulation Jane Patton Academic Senate for Calif. Community Colleges

SB 70 Vocational Education Sept chaptered into Ed Code section CCC System office --developing various responses ASCCC will spearhead one project: on articulation w/ high schools

SB 70 says: Improve regional linkages and career- technical ed pathways CCC will work with schools, consortia & ROCs Stresses faculty collaboration

Components Inventory articulation agreements Convene faculty discipline groups (CC and HS) Develop database Create outreach strategies Coordinate with existing groups e.g. consortia)

Guiding principles for our articulation project The project will: Build upon best practices for articulation & lessons learned Focus on targeted fields by region Build upon existing projects (IMPAC, Tech Prep) Provide support to faculty Provide opportunities to collaborate

Goals 1.Target the most relevant fields regionally 2.Develop articulation & career pathways 3.Create standards for course acceptance 4.Identify online technology 5.Increase the number of students 6.Develop a system to maintain & share articulation agreements 7.Build mechanism to sustain program
