US News and World Report  schools/alabama/districts/elmore-county/stanhope-elmore-high- school schools/alabama/districts/elmore-county/stanhope-elmore-high- school-132  Bronze Medallion School – only 22 out of 360 public high schools in the state of Alabama have achieved this status

A+ College Ready  SEHS joined the A+ College Ready program 4 years ago  AP classes prepare students for college. If they score high enough on an AP test they will receive college credit for the class  We have had a tremendous increase in our AP program  Over ______ qualifying scores have been made in 3 years  SEHS students are excelling in college due to our AP program. Many students who did not make a qualifying AP score are still making A’s in their respective college classes.

National Merit Finalist  Michael Coppa – graduationg class of 2014  1 st recipient of National Merit Finalist in the history of Elmore County Public Schools.

30 And Above Club  Since the inception of the A+ College Ready Program we have had a tremendous increase in our ACT scores  The ACT is a college admission test.  Most major academic scholarships are based on the ACT score  A score of 28+ qualifies most college students for major scholarships  2012 we had 2 students reach 30 or above  2013 we had 1 student reach 30 or above  2014 we had 6 students reach 30 or above.  1 student had a 34 and 1 student had a 33  2015 we currently have 3, but more are coming in as the year proceeds

AP Scholars  Each year the College Board issues AP Scholars Recognition  SEHS had 8 students receive this prestigious recognition  2014 –  4 AP Scholars  1 AP Scholar with Honors  3 AP Scholars with Distinction  2 National AP Scholars

AP Scores  This past year all 4 Elmore County Public Schools participated in the AP program  Stanhope Elmore had 40% of the total qualifying scores. This is by far the largest percentage of the scores among the 4 high schools.  AP Economics had 100% of all qualifying AP scores  AP Chemistry had 86% of all qualifying AP scores  AP Calculus had 85% of all qualifying AP scores  AP Biology had 44% of all qualifying AP scores  AP Literature had 36% of all qualifying AP scores  AP Environmental Science had 33% of all qualifying AP scores

More AP Classes  This year Stanhope Elmore added AP Physics I  Next year we may add AP Physics II  There has been discussion of AP Statistics  The problem is…..it costs money to train AP teachers and provide resources for the students in order to be successful

Scholarship Totals  Stanhope Elmore has been receiving a record number of scholarships for our students since the inception of our A+ College Ready Program  $1,850,000 in total scholarships  $2,100,000 in total scholarships  2015 – we are currently gathering our data as scholarships are being awarded

Student Comments  Mallory Smith – premed major at Samford

How Stanhope Elmore positively affects the Millbrook Community  Having nationally recognized schools will be a major factor in drawing businesses and families to the Millbrook Community.  With Maxwell AFB nearby, more military families will be attracted to Millbrook increasing tax dollars.  Students who graduate from Stanhope Elmore and succeed in college will benefit their hometown as they live and work post- graduation.

The students need your support  AP Exams cost $91 each.  Many students will be taking multiple exams in May, which will cost up to $455  We need your support to help reduce the cost of the exams for the students.  We are asking for a financial donation to help offset the cost of the AP Exams.
