Basic Guidelines The next 3 slides contain the basic guidelines. You will copy these down on the pages after the scoresheet pages.

Basic Guidelines The interactive notebook is used to: Complete daily warm ups Complete daily Outs (completed during last 10 minutes of class) Keep track of daily homework assignments (announcements, reminders, etc…) Take notes Do labs Practice problems Draw pictures and diagrams Answer questions in the book

Basic Guidelines -The notebook must be 70 Pages and spiral bound. -Mrs. Koshy has provided your first notebook. When you fill up this notebook it is your responsibility to replace it (You must buy a new notebook). -PAGES ARE NEVER REMOVED FROM THE INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOK. -THE INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOK IS FOR HONORS CHEMISTRY ONLY -Bring your notebook everyday!

Basic Guidelines -There is No Excuse for not having a notebook or not being able to find equations, diagrams, definitions, etc… at any point during class. -You are responsible for making up anything in your notebook that you may have missed due to an absence. -If you lose your notebook it is your responsibility to replace it and all of it’s contents.

Format Examples The following pages contain examples of student Interactive Notebooks.

The following pages demonstrate the format that you will follow everyday. The interactive notebook has a basic format that you must follow all of the time. You will use the LEFT & RIGHT PAGES for specific items. The next page contains the format example. You will copy this example down. This will be used as your reference for the basic format.

The Left Page Includes: Top(IN)- Date, Warm-Up Bottom(OUT)- Reflection (Completed at the end of class; last 10 minutes) The Right Page Includes: Homework- Reminders, Announcements, ETC… Classwork-(Through) such as: Labs, Cornell Notes, etc…

First Entry The following slide contains the set up that you will see, on the screen, each day when you walk into class. During the first five to seven minutes of class you will answer the warm up on the top left page Then set up the rest your right and left pages Remember to write down everything including homework and classwork. Doing this is required and it will keep you organized.
