Presentation transcript:

RTW Friday November 22 th List three ways organisms have evolved defenses over time.

3 day Species Project You will choose either an invasive or endangered FLORIDA species to research. You may create a Prezi or poster to display required information Over the 3 days you are required to complete the assigned work You will NOT copy and paste information! DUE Tuesday 11/26! No exceptions!

Poster Include: ◦ Title:  “Wanted” invasive species  “Missing” endangered species ◦ Bulleted information (per rubric) ◦ At least 2 pictures/drawings ◦ Work cited **Must supply your own poster board!**

Prezi Include ◦ Title ◦ Bulleted information (per rubric) ◦ Several pictures ◦ Diagrams ◦ Work cited **Save daily! Submit into Dropbox**

Today: Research the following 1. What is it? List characteristics: ◦ Habitat ◦ Diet (If applicable include type of consumer- herbivore, omnivore, etc.) ◦ Interactions with other plants and/or animals (symbiotic, parasitic, etc.) ◦ Behaviors 2. Which trophic level would you find the species?

RTW Monday, November 25 th What species did you choose for your project and why?

Today, research the following: 1. Create a food web of the ecosystem the species is found in (include at least two food chains). How is it affected by your species? 2. Describe two environmental impacts from the species. 3. Describe two economical impacts from the species.

RTW Tuesday, November 26 st What is the symbiotic relationship in which both organisms benefit? (+/+) GIVE AN EXAMPLE!

Today write a paper (rough draft!): Invasive: Propose a well-researched plan to correct the changes your species made on the ecosystem’s food web. Endangered: Propose a well-researched plan to help conservation efforts to protect your species. Type up your final draft! (Due tomorrow) a.12pt font Times New Roman b.Spell check! (proper grammar/spelling) c.2 paragraphs: i.1 st describing the problem ii.2 nd explaining your solution
