Involves a range of task types Assessment of knowledge, concepts, skills and attitudes Criterion based with reference to specific strands

Formative assessment and teaching are DIRECTLY linked. Quiz, PowerPoint, discussion, small piece of writing etc. Should be given during the unit, before the summative assessment. Some formative assessments are not graded, they include specific comments for the student.

To be given at the end of a Unit. Is used to assess student understanding and progress. Marked against the MYP criteria.
