WHAT CHANGES ARE TAKING PLACE IN THE COCKPIT OF CAP AIRCRAFT? (THIS ISN’T ONE OF THEM!)

BECKER SAR-DF 517 **SARSAT COMPATIBLE COMPATIBLE!

OKAY, SO WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?? CURRENT L-TRONICS LA-DF SYSTEM OVER 30- YEARS OLD, DOES NOT KEEP PACE WITH EMERGING TECHNOLOGY AS MORE PERSONAL LOCATOR BEACONS ARE FIELDED, THE BECKER DF WILL ENABLE SAR AIRCREWS TO FIND MISSING PERSONS, NOT BY RANDOM “SATELLITE HITS” BUT BY SATELLITE TRANSMISSION OF THE BEACON SIGNATURE FREQUENCY ITSELF.

Total SARSAT Rescues as of 20 June 2002 (since 1982) Worldwide - 13,629 Persons Rescued United States - 4,335 Persons Rescued Number of Persons Rescued To Date in Satellites relay distress signals from emergency beacons to a network of ground stations and ultimately to the U.S. Mission Control Center (USMCC) in Suitland, Maryland, which processes the distress signal and alerts the appropriate agency as to who is in distress. "search" out of search and rescue. NOAA-SARSAT is a part of the international Cospas- Sarsat Program to which 33 nations and two independent SAR organizations belong to.

TDFM-136 VHF RADIO The TDFM-136 Digital VHF Project 25 compliant, (Phase I) airborne VHF transceiver provides digital or conventional communications on every available channel in the VHF Hi Band from MHz to MHz. Project 25 defines a digital, trunked and, encrypted radio that is backwards compatible to conventional analog mode

BOTTOM LINE- ALLOWS CAP AIRCREWS TO COMMUNICATE WITH OTHER AGENCIES, EVEN AS CHANGES IN FREQUENCIES ARE IMPLEMENTED OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL YEARS.
