What were the major weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation?  Gave most power to the States  Weak central government  It only had one powerful branch of government – Legislative  National Congress did not have the power to tax; only states could tax

What were some of the powers the Confederation Congress did not have?  Could not pass taxes  Could not regulate interstate/foreign trade  Could not enforce laws  Could not draft soldiers  Could not control printing of money
