PROJECT UPDATE 1: CAREER DAY FEBRUARY 1, 2012

PROJECT TEAM -Grace Jacobsen -George Hamilton -Kathryn Craig -Jeff Faller

PROJECT SUMMARY Create a structured environment for students to meet company representatives, distribute resumes, and participate in an opportunity to meet potential future employers for employment or internship. This group will plan, set up, and advertise Career Day to students as well as direct it.

GOALS TO ACHIEVE -Generate completed list of phone contacts for companies from 10/10 Career Day (around 50 contacts) -Develop 10/10 Follow-up script for phone calls -Call companies that attended 10/10/11 CCI Career Day for follow up and record responses -For company contacts that don't answer - call again/ -Narrow companies attending to MAX -Market Career Day (ie. Flyers, ad in FSView, event on Facebook group (ICT Group))

MARKETING/ADVERTISING OF SPRING CAREER DAY P Contact FSView AD - Run ad for Career Day in student news paper -Posters/flyers in CCI Hotspots and billboards -Libraries -Bulletin boards -In front of Shores, College of Comm -Pairing with ICT Group -Pairing with Web Marketing

TIMELINE (REVISABLE) 1/22/12 - Generate completed list of phone contacts for companies from 10/10 Career Day 1/25/12 - Distributed call list and script among Project team members, "Wave 1" of calling begins 1/31/12 - Spreadsheet with responses finalized and sent to Grace Jacobsen. This should have a number of companies coming, not coming, and companies that need to be reached by second call or . 2/1/12 - Presentation for Project Update #1: Will discuss plans for marketing strategies as well as pairing with the ICT Group for Facebook and the progress of building the base of companies.

METRICS TO MEASURE SUCCESS FALL SEMESTER CAREER DAY Companies On Contact list - 89 Companies Contacted - 47 Responded with a yes (52%) SPRING SEMESTER CAREER DAY Companies On Contact list - 50 Companies Contacted -About 15 responded with a yes (so far, need to do Wave 2 of contacting)

NEXT GOALS FOR TEAM -Execute Wave 2 of calling/contacting companies -Determine number of definite attendees from last semester’s Career Day -Determine how many spots are open -Post flyers and posters for advertising
