The Industrial Revolution reached the United States in the early 1800’s. Samuel Slater brought British technology to the United States in Francis Cabot Lowell brought all aspects of production under one roof beginning the factory system.

The American Industrial Revolution took root in New England:  Poor Soil for farming  Numerous rivers and streams offered waterpower  Numerous ports for trade
