AFACT TT&L WG Report at Chiang Mai Meeting 30 May 2014 (Updated for the presentation at AFACT Bangkok Meeting) Akio Suzuki TT&L WG Chair

What Has Been Done TT&L WG proceeded based on the agreed agenda with 10 members from Thailand, Taiwan, Korea and Japan. 1.ETDA presentation on Thai tourism Industry 1) In Thailand Tourism industry is one of the largest industries. 2) ETDA is supporting the industry with IT technology. 3) Translation of address into English is one of their working items with the Royal Institute for Information Technology. 4) They had a meeting with the Chiang Mai Tourism Industry people to work for the AFACT TT&L WG, who showed interest in the destination related projects.

What Has Been Done (2) 2. Scope of the activities for TT&L WG 1) The chart describing the scope of the group was shown to know what has been done and what to do in the future. 2) Questions on how to make good relationship with conventional industry leading companies were raised. a. Destination travel information needs to be integrated with public information which local governments have and private one which private companies or consumers have. b. We will keep studying on what consumers want to get for their travel and accommodating their needs with what travel related industry have.

What Has Been Done (3) 3. SLH International Pilot Project 1) The members are gradually participating the project, when some part of the software still has to be developed. 2) The operation of the system was shown to make sure how to test, during which we found some malfunctioning points to be amended soon. 3) The system and the procedure for translation into local languages was also shown and the detailed paper was promised to be distributed among the participating members soon after the meeting. 4) The SLH test properties of each participating country will be shown in the test site since the next month test period, 15 th June, ) III will be trying to find appropriate partners for the project in Taiwan.

What Has Been Done (4) 4. DTI Project 1) Updated BRS of this project was shown. The document will be forwarded for further consideration to the members. 2) Smart Tourism project proposed by III will be taken care of in this DRI project. 5. Smart Tourism using cloud technology 1) III of Taiwan presented their endeavor in the joint session with TMC and CSC. 2) They will be cooperatively working with TT&L WG in the coming years, because theirs have a close working relationship with the DTI project.

What Has Been Done (5) 6. AppCross Software presented by III 1) AppCross software was shown to the members for the first time. 2) This will be discussed further to find out whether this is applicable for the DTI project in the future. 7. Others 1) TT&L WG members desire to have 2 full day or at least 1 and a half of the day working time. 2) AFACT TT&L WG web site is desired among the members. Thai proposed to use Yammer site for this, which was shown to the members. This was agreed to keep using by the WG.
