2 Objectives In this chapter you will learn to: ✔ Add a header and footer. ✔ Preview a presentation. ✔ Send a presentation to the printer.

3 Adding a Header and Footer Before you print your presentation, you can add a header and footer that will appear on every slide, handout, or notes page. Headers and footers contain useful information about the presentation, such as the author or company name, the date and time, and the slide number. you can add more than one header and footer to a presentation, you can have different headers and footers for slides and for notes and handouts. Header and footer information is stored on the presentation’s master slides.

6 Previewing a Presentation You can use print preview to see how your presentation will look before you print it. While in print preview, you have the option of switching between various views, such as notes, slides, outlines, and handouts, or even between landscape and portrait orientation.

7 Previewing a Presentation You can see how your slides will look when printed on a non-color printer while working in Normal view. On the View menu, point to Color/Grayscale, and then click Grayscale or Pure Black and White.

8 Sending a Presentation to the Printer Before you print a presentation, you should review the settings in the Page Setup dialog box and the Print dialog box.

You can use the Page Setup dialog box to set the proportions and orientation of your slides, notes pages, handouts, and outlines on the printed page. You can print your PowerPoint presentation in several ways: as slides, speaker notes, audience handouts, or an outline. PowerPoint prints slides and supplement materials based on settings in the Print dialog box.
