Wetland by Justin Ortiz One of the three types of wetland, marshes seem to have more animal life. The animal marshes are particulary important habitats for amphinbians and water dwelling reptiles because the contain both open water and vegetated areas.T

Animals and plants Because there are three distinct types of wetland in our area there are three different plant communites that inhabit them what they have in common is an ability to thrive in water logged condition therefore they are called hydrophilic plants. Marshes are easily recongised by their abundance of emergent vegetion, such as cattailes typha spp.

location There are some unusual and interesting wetlands in the Hamilton area. A few of the most easily accessed.
