 The capital city is St.Paul: Is the most populous urban area in the U.S. state of Minnesota, and is composed of 182 cities and townships built around the Mississippi, Minnesota, and St. Croix rivers. The area is also nicknamed the Twin Cities for its two largest cities, Minneapolis, with the highest population, and Saint Paul, the state capital. It is a classic example of twin cities in the sense of geographical proximity. Major Cities in Minnesota: St. Paul

 The 2 nd largest city is Minneapolis: It’s nicknamed "City of Lakes" and the "Mill City", It is the county seat of Hennepin county and is the largest city in the state of Minnesota, and is the 48th largest state in the U.S.. Its name is attributed to the city's first schoolteacher, who combined mni, a Dakota Sioux word for water, and polis, the Greek word for city.

 Why is Minnesota called the bread and butter state?  The Bread and Butter State: This name came into use at the Pan-American Exposition at Buffalo NY in The superior wheat, flour, and dairy products of Minnesota caused the state to be referred to as "The Bread and Butter State."

 1.The climate-controlled Metro Dome is the only facility in the country to host a Super Bowl, a World Series and a NCAA Final Four Basketball Championship. 2.Minnesotan baseball commentator Halsey Hal was the first to say 'Holy Cow' during a baseball broadcast.
