Gulliver’s Travel Math Project

Movie as an introduction Sorry it is not the new version of the movie…. But that one is still in theaters, so this one will have to do… Sorry it is not the new version of the movie…. But that one is still in theaters, so this one will have to do… The real story of Gulliver places him in Lilliput where, compared to the Lilliputians, he is a giant. He is also placed in the city of Brobdignag where, compared to the Brobdignagians, he is a miniature human. Shrinking and growing… it’s all about ratios and proportions!

Show first 30 minutes of movie…

Project instructions page Assigned date: Due date: (you have over 2 weeks) Highlight 2 nd paragraph Converting Ratios for Lilliput- Converting Ratios for Brobdignag-

Score Card You are going to choose an item to recreate in either country. (Cell phone, I-pod, pizza, t-shirt…) You need to choose to represent that item in either Lilliput OR Brobdignag. Then you need to choose to either draw OR make your item as if it were in the country you chose. If you chose to draw you’ll use the point distribution on top. If you chose make you’ll use the one on bottom. Either way it is worth 42 pts! This grade will count towards your 3 rd Quarter grade.

Your HW tonight Think of your object/item that you are going to either draw or make. Mrs. Araya will clarify anything that is still confusing tomorrow. ALL REDO’S AND LATE WORK ARE DUE TOMORROW!! MATH FOLDERS ARE DUE TOMORROW!!!
