THEMES OF CITIZENSHIP IN COMMUNITIES Tell the truth Be caring Respect others Be responsible for what you do and say Be brave enough to do the right thing and help out when needed

WHAT IS A COMMUNITY? A group of interacting people, living within a certain proximity Sharing a populated environment Sharing beliefs, resources and needs

CITIZENSHIP is the state of being a citizen of a particular social, political, national, or human resource community. Carries rights and responsibilities Citizens work to better their community Participate in communities and volunteer

VOLUNTEER Working on behalf of others without receiving payment Kindness act Selfless act Makes a person feel good about themselves
