Traditional One-Way Computer-Based Instruction Computer Student

Hypermedia Two-Way Computer-Based Instruction Computer Student

Experiencing Virtual Reality Traditional method Wearing high-tech VR goggles With Using computer

QuickTime VR offers two types of views: n Panoramic movies –enter a space, e.g. an outdoors scene or a room n Object movies –view an object from all sides, e.g. a sculpture

How QuickTime VR works? n Use a 35 mm camera with a 15 mm lens on a tripod to shoot a series of pictures, turning the camera 30 degrees after each exposure n Digitize the images using a scanner

How do you piece together photographs to make a panorama?

QuickTime VR warps the images, maps the overlapping features and automatically stitches the images together

QuickTime VR Authoring Studio 1.0 Features: 4 Downloading images from a video camera, digital camera or scanner 4 Stitching images together into a seamless panorama movie 4 Combining object frames into an object movie 4 Linking object movies and panorama movies into multi-node VR project

Advantages of QuickTime VR Authoring Studio: 4 Simple drag & drop authoring 4 No special photographic equipment required 4 Support for object animation 4 Creates multi-node projects containing object and panorama movies

Disadvantages: 4 Time consuming 4 Relatively high initial layout costs

Thank you
