SMOOTHER PATHS ON HURST ROAD AND OAKHILL ROAD, HORSHAM JESS BRODIE, ELLEN GWYNN, SAAKSHI KUMARI & JEMMA LARKIN

WHO WE ARE We are a Year 10 citizenship group, who are campaigning for smoother, safer paths on Oakhill Road, (near 3 schools, one of which being Millais itself, and Horsham Train Station) and Hurst Road (near Horsham Hospital and the local leisure centre, Pavilions in the Park).

OVERVIEW Presently, the paths on these two roads are in shocking condition. For example, Hurst Road is covered in potholes, and Oakhill Road is generally uneven, as some of it is made up of gravel, and several attempts to smoothen a small area has lead to a risen area, which people, specifically the elderly and those using wheelchairs, bikes and scooters may struggle to use. SO FAR So far, we have created social media pages to advertise our campaign, including pages on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. If you agree with our views, please take the time to visit our pages. We have also created an online petition. If you agree with our views, please use this link to sign our petition. We are in the process of writing to our local newspaper in attempt to give our campaign more publicity and advertise the issue further.link

OUR PLANS In order to ensure a change, we aim to create posters to put up around the school. We would also like to post leaflets through the doors of people residing in Hurst and Oakhill Roads. We also aim to write to the Horsham District County Council, to get them on our side.
