 These words and terms will be key for the rest of this lesson. As a group, are we comfortable with our understanding of these words? With a partner, take the next minute to clarify any terms that need explanation. If still unclear, ask a third or forth person.

 In a group of 2 or 3, read your passage - prepare to describe to us "what kind of God" this illustrates.  Note: You aren't limited to the key terms previous used. Feel free to use your own words to explain.

 10 Then one of them said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.” Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him. 11 Abraham and Sarah were already very old, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing. 12 So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?” 13 Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ 14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”15 Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, “I did not laugh.” But he said, “Yes, you did laugh.”

 19 God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

 7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

 13 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

 What did we discover about the Nature of God?  What can we conclude about how God is portrayed in Biblical Scripture?  Which one is most accurate or true? Or can they all be true?  Take a piece of paper and write on it what your opinion of the Nature of God is. Note* If you take the opinion of God not existing, challenge yourself to consider what the perceived Nature of God is Once complete, crumple up your paper!

 I will now ask you to throw your paper at me. I will read aloud the perspective. You do not have to say that it is yours, but I will randomly ask a student to try to explain or challenge this idea.

 Take the next 5 minutes and attempt to answer the following statement: “If God is omnipotent, then he must be able to do absolutely anything.” Discuss When complete, give it to your partner to peer assess your answer. Share tips and advice to help improve each other’s answer.
