I Want to be a Police Officer 4th grade patrol Dominik , Cristian, and Crystal
The 4th grade students of Del Rey have seven question to answer each month. We learn about a career each month and this month we have to study sheriffs. We researched on the internet to find information about sheriffs. We also invited a guest speaker to come and help us with the questions. Then we went on a field trip. We made power points to show what we have learned.
How much education will I need for this career? You need to pass high school and you may have to go through some college.
What are the qualification I need? You have to be drug free . You have to be 21 or older. You have to get good grades at school. You need to have honesty. You must be a U.S citizen. You have to have a driver’s license. You cannot have a criminal record. You have to be in good physical condition and have good eye sight too.
How much can I expect to earn when I begin my career? Being a sheriff you can earn up to $20.21-$28.00 per hour plus benefits and retirement .
What is the maximum amount of money I can earn? A jailer can earn $ 100,000 per year with over time.
What would my main duties or responsibilities be? Your duties would be to arrest criminals. Another duty would be to provide public safety.
What affect would I have on the community Giving tickets to speeders. Also to take criminals out of the community.
Will there still be a need for this job in 2017? As long as there are criminals, there will always be a need for law enforcement.
