Calorimeter Meeting 22 October 02 Stephanie Beauceron LPNHE - Paris 1 Attempts on: Response dependence on temperature Stephanie Beauceron LPNHE - Paris The aim : study if the signal from preamp could change if we are at high temperature

Calorimeter Meeting 22 October 02 Stephanie Beauceron LPNHE - Paris 2 The reason of this study The preamp 7 board got high tempreature due to a broken fan. Before repairing the fan, preamp board 7 was cool down and after some time was turn on (so temperature increased). In the same time that the temperature increased, some linearity ramps had been taken (pulsing at different DAC value). And the temperature was recorded each 10 minutes (logbook).  Compare the different linearity ramps and see if we can see an effect from temperature increasing…

3 Pb in linearity ramp… These linearity ramps do not look like old linearity ramp… Find a pb: idac 1 ipat 0 indac idac 1 ipat 0 indac idac 1 ipat 0 indac idac 1 ipat 0 indac 45 write clear idac 2 ipat 0 indac idac 2 ipat 0 indac idac 2 ipat 0 indac idac 2 ipat 0 indac idac 2 ipat 0 indac idac 2 ipat 0 indac idac 2 ipat 0 indac idac 2 ipat 0 indac 8 Value of the step where the event is. ADC count for the event and the channel This ADC counts correspond to the previous step but are flagged with the second step!!! Real second step  Events mixing with steps… No possibility to have a right linearity ramp. Due to multibuffer mode…

Calorimeter Meeting 22 October 02 Stephanie Beauceron LPNHE - Paris 4 A offline correction (skip the first 100 events) has been done but… Before looking at the linearity ramp versus temperature, 2 ramps in same condition of temperature with just 10 minutes between each other as been studied… In 10 minutes we have a variation of 40 ADC counts for some steps!!! A solution… Ramp(t=10)-Ramp(t=0min)

Calorimeter Meeting 22 October 02 Stephanie Beauceron LPNHE - Paris 5 Not so good ramp mean step 0 sigma mean step 1 sigma mean step 2 sigma mean step 3 sigma mean step 4 sigma mean step 5 sigma mean step 6 sigma mean step 7 sigma mean step 8 sigma mean step 9 sigma mean step 10 sigma mean step 11 sigma mean step 12 sigma mean step 13 sigma mean step 14 sigma mean step 15 sigma mean step 0 sigma mean step 1 sigma mean step 2 sigma mean step 3 sigma mean step 4 sigma mean step 5 sigma mean step 6 sigma mean step 7 sigma mean step 8 sigma mean step 9 sigma mean step 10 sigma mean step 11 sigma mean step 12 sigma mean step 13 sigma mean step 14 sigma mean step 15 sigma Ramp 10 minutes later Some differences Too high sigma values

6 Impossible to have any conclusion… ~100 ADC Counts  temperature increase of 10 degrees in 1h30…

Calorimeter Meeting 22 October 02 Stephanie Beauceron LPNHE - Paris 7 Huge variation of temperature with time… From logbook 10 degrees in 10 minutes!!! And a ramp requires 10 minutes to be done… Can we really look at the temperature influences on signal?
