The Basic Facts (Project-specific) Transforming four qualifications to learnerships –Networking –PDE (Post-graduate Diploma in Engineering) –MES (Masters in Engineering Science) –MSE (Masters in Software Engineering) Entry level: –B.Sc. graduates, majoring in Maths & Science –Unemployed graduates from previously disadvantaged universities

Issues Why at ISSA? –ISSA specifically addresses the historically disadvantaged community (all learners are black, 50% are women) Why not in Gauteng where the bulk of the industry is? –The project originated at ISSA –Learnerships are national, ISSA is the vehicle

Issues Why the satellite component - who will employ these graduates? –Specific Outcome: To achieve at least an 80% satisfaction rating from the establishments in which learners are placed –Tri-partite agreement Why Networking (vendor-specific)?
