Nobody alive was there to see this. You are under no obligation to believe this theory. It is simply one possible explanation among many possible explanations for the origins of the universe.

Where is Theory found?  Documented in the Bible (Genesis Chapter 1)  Inspired by God and authored by Moses (written between B.C.) Websites: Institute for Creation Research  Answers in Genesis 

Timeline: 7 days (literal vs. symbolic) Based on other writings of Moses (1st five books of Bible) being historical and literal Genesis Exodus Leviticus Numbers Deuteronomy Real people, and Real events recorded in other non-Christian documents
