Organic Compound Poster Project Write your names and period # on the back of the poster Periods 5-8 Planning sheet due @ start of period Tues 10/13 (4 points) Poster due @ start of period on Mon 10/19 (16 points) 20 points total Periods 1-4 Planning sheet due @ start of period Wed 10/14 (4 points) Poster due @ start of period on Tues 10/20 (16 points) 20 points total

Objective: to create an informational poster about an organic compound.

Section 1: Monomer. Choose a monomer of your organic compound and find a diagram of it online. Draw a color diagram of the monomer Show atoms connected by bonds Include a color key for the atoms Write the name of the monomer and its chemical formula

Section 2: Polymer. Choose a polymer that is made from your monomer and find a diagram of it online. Label the polymer Draw a color diagram of the polymer Show monomers connected by bonds Label the monomer Highlight one of the monomers in the polymer

Section 3: Function in living things Section 3: Function in living things. Use your graphic organizer (on file) to find the functions of the organic compound in living things. Draw a color illustration for each function EXTRA CREDIT: research additional functions of your organic compound online, and include them in this section of the poster Write a brief description of each function

Draw a color diagram of the enzyme-catalyzed Section 4: Enzyme-catalyzed reaction. Use the internet to find a diagram of a reaction involving your organic compound that is catalyzed by an enzyme. Label the substrate Draw a color diagram of the enzyme-catalyzed reaction Label the enzyme Label the product

What should you do if you are assigned lipids?

No Monomers or Polymers Function in Living Things Atom key: Lipids Function in Living Things Enzyme
