Current STEREO status 12/11/2006 First image last week (Ahead) – Now we have a mission! Lunar fly-by Ahead and Behind Dec 15 –Ahead spacecraft escapes to heliocentric orbit First panorama of inner heliosphere in January –From the sun to 1 AU – should be quite nifty! Lunar fly-by Behind Jan 21 –Behind escape to heliocentric orbit –Official beginning of Phase E First true 3-D imaging about beginning of April –Ahead-Behind about 3 degrees apart as seen from sun STEREO now effectively in Phase E (MO & DA) –Official handover Jan 22, but most Project people gone –Budget for Phase-E: We survived, but no contingency!
