TVA Kingston Update 6/14/2010 – TDEC issues $11.5MM multi-year penalty to TVA for release Time Critical work to remove ash from river ended 6/28/2010 2,760,656 CY dredged as of 7/1/2010, with additional 749,073 CY excavated, for a total of ~3.5MM CY As of 7/2/2010, MM tons ash shipped to Arrowhead Landfill in Perry County Alabama. Emory River reopened to Public on May 29, 2010 Work continues for design and implementation of closure for remaining released ash and relic structure.

Regulatory Changes Not surprisingly, with the economy being down significantly, Tipping fees and State appropriation dollars were down as well. The main thrust of this year’s rulemaking effort revolved around adjustments to fees (the first major adjustment to Tennessee’s fee schedule since Subtitle D was adopted).
