L. Greiner3IPHC-LBNL Phone Conference 07/10/2012 STAR PXL Project News Preparation for DOE yearly review at BNL on July Primarily a project progress review with significant technical content. A full set of documentation for the PXL detector review is available at Preliminary PXL subsystem presentation available at LINK New Virtex-6 based RDO motherboards. Full complement of 10 assembled boards have been received for the prototype run RDO. Testing is underway. Testing PCBs are designed and will be in layout this week. Expect delivery in the next 2 weeks. Student help as production nears. Tobias Tischler from Frankfurt at LBNL for 6 weeks. Sam Woodmansee – student from UCB doing probe testing (and more) full time summer + part time school year.

Greiner4IPHC-LBNL Phone Conference 07/10/2012 STAR Two power bus cable design PCBs are near completion in CERN PCB shop (outer driver boards complete, low mass cables should be complete early this week). Prototype order is for 10 each. > 20 good thinned Ultimate1 sensors have been acquired through probe testing. (yield discussion to be given in MS talk) We will begin by assembling test ladders on cables using bad sensors to check assembly tooling and alignment, then assemble ladders with good sensors. Highest priority is to test the two-power cable design. MS will come to LBNL for this testing. We will place the production order for the engineering run after validating the design.

L. Greiner5IPHC-LBNL Phone Conference 07/10/2012 STAR Power Regulator Test Cable Power regulator cable test layout is complete and the PCBs have been fabricated. These are not of a form factor that can be used on ladders, but are intended for testing only. These will be shipped to IPHC this week.
