 Born May 13 th 1912 in Toronto, Canada  Died march 20 th 1988  Age of death between 75 years and 8 months and 76 and 7 months old

 Self taught musician led his own band from 1933 to 1938

 His mother and him moved throughout the pacific north west where his mother got work as a cook.

 She married a miner John Evans and the family settled in California when he was about 8 attended junior high in Berkeley  He married Lillian Grace in 1950

 Played in Stockton then became a local favorite

 Spent many hours at homes of friends practicing the piano since he didn’t have one  Graduated high school in 1930 and enter college of the pacific Stockton in the fall

 Transferred to Modesto junior college bigger school, and his band started getting more local jobs at college dances and resorts.
