B O N N E V I L L E P O W E R A D M I N I S T R A T I O N What’s New with the BPA Commercial & Industrial Lighting Program? …. Lots! John Wilson Non-Residential Lighting Program Manager

B O N N E V I L L E P O W E R A D M I N I S T R A T I O N 2 COTRs no longer need to review/approve non-standard measures Relaxed and consistent push on final calculator review Non-standard measure approval comes directly from the BPA Lighting Team Relaxed Program Policy

B O N N E V I L L E P O W E R A D M I N I S T R A T I O N 3 Completely redesigned user interface –Less like a spreadsheet – More like an interactive online form Much larger selection of deemed measures The vast majority of LEDs are now deemed measures What’s New with the Lighting Program?

B O N N E V I L L E P O W E R A D M I N I S T R A T I O N Additional Support From BPA Any project estimated to be greater than 200 kWh saved is eligible for comprehensive field support. Any school project, regardless of size for a SRR qualifies for comprehensive field support 4

B O N N E V I L L E P O W E R A D M I N I S T R A T I O N What is Comprehensive Field Support? Beginning in the 2014 calendar year, BPA will offer more comprehensive assistance with large projects. –Pre and post audit assistance –Facilitation between utilities, trade allies, customers –Assistance with program documentation Completed lighting calculator Any required paperwork 5

B O N N E V I L L E P O W E R A D M I N I S T R A T I O N What could a SRR Utility Expect? 6  Streamlined approval process at BPA and review support from  Training on lighting calculator and ongoing support through NW TAN  Comprehensive project support

B O N N E V I L L E P O W E R A D M I N I S T R A T I O N 7 BPA recognizes the issue BPA thinks the problem has more to do with Complicated tools (lighting calculator) Confusing Policy Lack of implementation support for SRR utilities Not confident adding additional measures really solves the core issue BPA Perspective on Ecotope Study

B O N N E V I L L E P O W E R A D M I N I S T R A T I O N 8 Would still require programmatic inputs Trade allies still need to be trained Would still require project documentation Still requires level of support from SRR program managers Schools contain a myriad of lighting applications / technologies (new calculator is great for this) Introduces competing measures with different requirements Additional Measures for Lighting in Schools?

B O N N E V I L L E P O W E R A D M I N I S T R A T I O N Important Dates Lighting Calculator 3.0 will be released October 1, 2013 Lighting Calculator 2.3 can be used until April 1,
