Early Life and Backround Born June 13 th 1865 in Dublin Ireland His father, Jervis Yeats, was a Williamite soldier and linen merchant who died in 1712 His mother, Susan Mary Pollexfen, came from a wealthy family who owned a milling and shipping business His family was highly artistic, his siblings consisted of a highly regarded painter, and sisters involved in the Arts and Crafts movements

Education Home-schooled in his early school years Attended Godolphin Primary school from In 1881 Yeats moved back to Dublin and attended Erasmus Smith High School where he met many of the local artists and writers He ended his educational career at the Metropolitan School of Art

Accomplishments Yeats is known best for his Lyric achievements His poetry, especially the volumes The Wild Swans at Coole (1919), Michael Robartes and the Dancer (1921), The Tower (1928), The Winding Stair and Other Poems (1933), and Last Poems and Plays (1940), made him one of the most respected and well known poets of all time.
