Brochure When I gave my final description to Mr. Festin. He liked the idea, but he said, don’t try to create a map. He said to try and create a brochure. Well after making a couple brochures, I realized they were just maps. I finally realized paper was outdated, and I wanted to go another route. I wanted to create a location based application, usable with mobile devices.

Data Location was the biggest part of this application to work. anted the user to be able to use the nearby key. This is not only for him to access local golf courses, but to also find new courses he hadn't played. I gathered the latitude and longitude location from Google Earth. These locations are accurate enough to direct anyone to a golf course. I could have used the Utah ARGC, but I wanted to learn how to use my own data. Although I did download there data set to get more information. This information I was most curious about was if the course was a 9 hole course, 18 hole course, and if it was a private or public course. I took there data and added it to my excel spread sheet next to my Latitude and Longitude locations.

Data Now not only was the location important, but also the cost. I was not looking for specials, since I would want those sent to the user by the golf course. I wanted flat rates. I tried to look online for most of these but, if they didn’t have their own site, I would trust the data and called the course for the pricing. When I called I would also ask if they would be interested in a application like this. Most of them was either interested or had some one contacting them for this already.

Usage of the Data Now, I didn’t get into the programming side of the booking the tee times. Yet I would want it to be similar as this. Looking at this I feel it is all location based data that would make this app work. I would want to track each person who enabled the application to do so. This could see what golf courses they liked, and also give each course feedback. This feedback could be used to send out coupons to these users to expand their client list. Or reward repeat customers. This wouldn’t only be useful for the golf courses. The user as well could place in his personal best score and check in to see if he has been beaten.

Target My target audience would be those using smart phones. Preferably those running the IOS and Android operating systems on their mobile devices, since these would be the biggest audience.

Revenue This app would be given out for free, the most of your money would be from advertisements, these would be displayed along the bottom of the screen and be determined by the persons usage of golf courses.
