2 Wiener Maraton PS According to Wiener some Maraton are “at risk” of water leakage and have to be sent back to Wiener for repairs: A first list of PS (Feb. 12 th ): 10 concerned CALO (the last ones purchased: HV/LED system, PS/SPD VFE, FE spares). Sent to Wiener into 2 batches: 5 on Feb 21 th : 2 back on March 4 th The last 3 Maraton were back on March 11 th : ”The both ones with broken OVP circuits (channel 0, 1, and 3) have been destroyed by permanent current (from an other channel or power supply) into these very outputs when they were in off state.” A new list from Wiener (March 17 th ): all our Maraton have to be repaired: 29 used for FE crates! Sent to Wiener into 2 batches… 16 on March 20 th (5 1 rst list, 13 2 nd list), back on April 3 rd : A-side (2 not working …) 13 (1 lost!, 4 back from repair beginning of March and checked by Wiener) on April 17 th (2 days delay …): C-side, back April 25 th ? 16/04/2008 Pascal Perret - LPC Clermont

8 Turbines 4 turbines are broken: 2 have the same problems: destruction of the axis (powder) For the 2 other ones, axis ok, problem not yet identified We decided to stop the remaining 2 noisy turbines We have 3 spares + 1 spare at CERN store All our turbines could be affected (fabrication problem?)
