Developing Courage Joshua 1:1-9

Courage Is Essential For A Soldier of Christ! Ephesians 6:10-18 Hebrews 10:38,39 God has no use for cowards!

We Need Courage: To Worship God (Daniel 6) To Stand Against Sin (Daniel 3) To Flee Evil (Genesis 39) To Fight (1 Samuel 17) To Teach The Truth (2 Samuel 12)

Sources of Courage: God Brethren Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Heb. 4:16, ESV) Romans 8:31ff Brethren Hebrews 10:24,25 Hebrews 3:13 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Acts 28:15

The Christian Must Build Upon The Foundation of Courage… He must possess a good conscience knowing he has obeyed God. (Hebrews 10:22-24) He must place his trust in God. (Proverbs 29:25) Both of these come with study. (Romans 10:17; 2 Timothy 2:15)

Proverbs 3:5-8 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. 7 Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. 8 It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
